This top second tier commercial building contractor with a fantastic reputation throughout Australia has a current turnover in excess of $500M. Currently one of the preferred contractors to some of Australia's major developers and retailers, they have successfully secured projects in and around the Newcastle region; Sydney and the ACT.
For a commercial/retail project located near Gunghalin and ranging around the $10M mark, we are recruiting for a driven Leading Hand to report into the Foreman.
In your role as Leading Hand you will perform the following duties:

Some basic labouring

Coordinate with sub-contractors on the site

Resolve minor issues on site before raising them with foreman

Basic carpentry items
-
Setting-out
Candidates must possess the following:
-
Reading and understanding of plans and specifications
-
Measure quantities of concrete and reo and other minor supplies
-
First aid ticket
-
Experience working for top or mid tier building contractors
-
Ideally a skilled trades or carpentry background
-
Some form of supervisory role (not a senior position)
